Slow cooker brisket

October 3, 2011

I made some brisket in the slow cooker. Nothing fancy but Lord it was delicious. Rivaled the local bbq joint. Served it with some leftover sweet potatoes from a steakhouse. Took them out of their skins and mixed with some laughing cow cheese, salt, pepper, and cinnamon.

This overtime is really putting a damper on my blogging. Hoping to be able to blog more soon.

Enjoy.

3 lb brisket (the flat half)
Garlic salt and pepper
3 onions (ours were Vidalia), sliced
1 bottle of chili sauce
1 cup of water

Season brisket with garlic salt and pepper. Place half of the onions in the bottom of a slow cooker. Cover with 1 cup of water. Place meat on top, seasoned side down. Season top side.
Cover meat with the bottle of chili sauce. Use a knife or spoon to make sure it is spread out evenly.

Place the rest of the onions on top. Cover and cook on low for ~10 hours.

Once done, remove from slow cooker and let rest for 30 min. Meat will shred but you want to slice it across the grain for the most tender cut.
